A few years ago, with three under four and my husband deployed to Afghanistan with the Australian Army, I learned quickly that I couldn’t do it all on my own. More importantly, I learned that I didn’t have to. It was the women around me — friends, family, and even those I barely knew who showed up and helped carry me through.

That time in my life taught me something powerful. Motherhood isn't defined by biology or tradition. It’s made up of quiet strength, shared stories, and the unspoken bond between women who support one another. It is in the acts of care, the late-night check-ins, the moments of vulnerability and humour, and the fierce love that shows up in so many different ways.
